Our “Life Rides” transport program uses a truck and trailer and a broad network of rescues from around the country to save as many animals as possible. Using the custom state-of-the-art transport trailer, which can hold up to 22 animals, we are able to pull at-risk animals from kill shelters and move them to no-kill shelters and rescues. Transporting animals out of the state of Georgia is not the end to overpopulation and euthanasia, or the only solution, but it is a very effective way to cut back on the issues while we simultaneously allow our other programs to decrease other issues. We believe in stopping the problem at the source. Programs geared towards spaying and neutering and preventing owner surrenders will allow us to lessen the amount of animals that enter the shelter. From there, we are able to transport the remaining. There are many states up north and surrounding Georgia that have spay/neuter laws and therefore create a need for adoptable animals. It is the teamwork between all of our programs that will get our community to no kill! You can help keep us rolling by donating to our cause. Visit our donate page to see how you can sponsor a single animal, or sponsor a whole transport!

The Humane Society of Valdosta in Lowndes County serves as the parent organization for programs that advocate and take action to benefit those who cannot speak for themselves. Our ultimate goal is to merit a “No Kill” status for our community and stay the course in providing homes to homeless pets.
