New volunteers must be available during our business hours (M-F 9am-2pm). Orientations and volunteer shifts will be scheduled to limit the number of people in our building at a time. We can only house cats and kittens in our building. If you are interested in working with dogs, consider signing up to be a dog foster!
Thank you for your interest in volunteering! Our volunteers are the backbone of the HSVL. Without the help of our volunteers we would not be able to run our rescue!
Some responsibilities will include cleaning cat rooms (scooping litter boxes, sweeping, sanitizing), sanitizing playpens, condos, and crates, dishes, laundry, cleaning our transport trailer, and socializing with animals.
Please email us at volunteer@humanesocietyofvaldosta.org and we will work with your schedule.
For court ordered community service hours, please check here for more information.
*We cannot accept volunteers 14 and under at this time. They are more than welcome to visit with the cats during visitation hours, Monday through Friday, 9am to 2pm with a guardian!
*The HSVL reserves the right to discontinue/terminate volunteer relationship at any time for any reason.

The Humane Society of Valdosta in Lowndes County serves as the parent organization for programs that advocate and take action to benefit those who cannot speak for themselves. Our ultimate goal is to merit a “No Kill” status for our community and stay the course in providing homes to homeless pets.
